The art of the farming business on your cell phone
Farming Simulator has, in some editions, been able to assert itself as an ultimate reference in farming simulation for PC. Now this mobile version has just added a new building block, offering a game which is slightly more simplified, but above all adapted to this new medium.
It will involve, as always, managing your farming business, guaranteeing its development by purchasing new tractors, harvesters, etc. The game precision is as always, with the option to continuously monitor the prices of the different products in order to sell at the best time. You can grow cereals, raise livestock and extract the milk... The possibilities are countless and contribute enormously to the entertainment of those who like this genre. Of course, it will be necessary to understand and respect the agricultural production cycles, and condition the soils, always behind the steering wheel of impressive machinery.
The warehouse will allow you to regularly change vehicle as soon as your finances are in a healthy state - but it is hugely regrettable that not all vehicles have been included in the basic game, although they are in the paid version... In fact, you’ll have to reach into your real pockets to buy some of the game’s vehicles. A dubious option which leaves us with the unpleasant impression of a game sold in a kit.
A well-designed playing mode damaged by the lack of clarity
The mise-en-scène of this Farming Simulator 14 is a feast for the eyes: the maneuverability of the vehicles is very well designed and proves to be instinctive from the start. Unfortunately, however, this part quickly gives way to a certain frustration due to the inadequacies of the physical motor. Driving quickly turns out to be very easy, whilst the distribution of collisions is unrealistic and presents few challenges (meaning you can bump into any place without any consequences).
Farming Simulator 14 for Windows 10 offers a mini tutorial lasting barely 30 seconds, which is too short to understand the mechanisms of the game. The player is left to discover these for himself, and those who are unfamiliar with the series will have no other option than to consult the game manual (which forces them to exit the application in order to open the online support) to know what to do.
On a technical level, Farming Simulator 14 is very smooth. The game’s textures and models are realistic and very visually appealing, even if the sound effects don’t always meet the same quality requirements. However, it's a real pleasure to drive these machines on the small country roads before sowing the fields during the sunset (the day/night cycle is well done). A graphics success!
An entertaining but incomplete farming simulator
As usual in the series, the followers delight in this Farming Simulator 14 for Windows 10. The game is fun from the beginning and offers enough farming products and different vehicles to have a good time. However, it’s a shame that you need to pay to unblock some of the additional vehicles. Particularly the physical aspect of the latter is at least inadequate and simple. A good game which the followers will love, but with some dubious options.
